IPM Studios is a fashion house based in France since March 2021 with a multidisciplinary approach. Through the interest of its founder and artistic director in painting, art, architecture and history; IPM offers an alternative path between the workwear wardrobe and tailoring, drawing its inspiration from the anatomy of the human body and brutalist architecture. It is difficult in 2021 to keep it simple and to the point, yet this is what the French label aspires to. The designer seeks to provoke reflections around the garment, its structure, but especially around its portability. There is no question of presenting castles but clothes worn in everyday life, what to dress the woman from morning to night. It's not extravagant, bulky, wacky: it's simple, aesthetic and smart. For this “Rift Bones” collection inspired by blood vessels, each piece represents the path taken by vessels of the circulatory system which allow blood to reach the heart directly. The garment is seen as a second skin: the torn mesh, the overlays of fabrics and the raw edges directly refer to the tissues of the human body. Inspired by Da Vinci's sketches as well as the works of anatomist Gunther Von Hagen; IPN highlights the feminine forms through unique pieces that open the discussion on "the second skin".
RIBS BONES
FALL WINTER 2021COLLECTION
The collection is inspired by the history of medicine, Enlightenment thought, criminal research, mortuary practices, but also architecture, museums and the brutalist movement. This is where "Rift Bones" came into being: exploring through every piece of clothing the anatomy of the human body in the form of a plan similar to the sketches of architects from the Brutalist movement. From all these areas of interest arose a real reflection around anatomy and more precisely by looking at the 100,000km that blood vessels form in a human body and how it was possible to transcribe them on a silhouette of fashion. Which textile to use? How to transcribe a body texture? How do you relate anatomy to architecture? It is by asking all these questions that the IPM label has succeeded in bringing its collection to life. IPN's "Rift Bones" is an invitation to open the conversation about the aesthetics of the human body and its countless secrets. The theme is expressed through the details of the collection such as prints, fabrics and clothing constructions. IPN's FW21 collection continues the exploration of form and function, elegance and portability through its inspirations. At the same time, thanks to its collection, ipn hopes to support laboratories specializing in research on in vitro skin reproduction in the laboratory aimed at treating genetic skin diseases or even allowing transplants.
